Goodness Gracious! Hello people who still are paying attention to me on here! My apologies for not keeping my DeviantArt up to date, but I am still doing art and living my life! I guess I should take the time to update you with all things considered...
It's been about 6 or so months since I have last posted a journal entry. As you last knew, I had just gotten my MRI results in. Well! In December I had my surgery, and although I was off to a rocky start I am doing a lot better now!
(For those who don't know, I had a reconstructive surgery on my knee. Rather than just replacing my entire knee, they instead worked with what they had by shaving my thigh bone, replacing ALL muscles and also cutting and reshaping my knee cap.)
For the first week, they were unsure if I would be able to walk ever again due to my leg not being able to move whatsoever, but after a few weeks, I finally was able to move my toes and slowly began lifting my leg up. For the past 6 or so months, I have been in Physical Therapy and actually just finished with that a few days ago! As of now, I can squat and job a few yards. It's super nice to have my movement back. Although my leg will never be the same again, I can walk with a cane now and it's wonderful. One year ago, I never thought that I would be able to live a normal life and enjoy working out ever again.. I guess my message here is that you should never take anything for granted, not even your ability to move or walk, and also that with hard work comes GREAT pay off.
Another update, I was just recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease. For those who don't know what that is, it is basically an Auto Immune Disease that when you consume Gluten (Wheat, Barley, Rye) your body doesn't know what to do with it, so it tries to kill itself. Needless to say, It has been a drastic change in my life. The weirdest things have gluten in them! (Pickles, Licorice, Most alcohol). I am seeing this as a very positive thing though! Since my diagnosis, I have lost nearly 50 pounds and all my gross bodily reactions have stopped!
Another update; I am moving to Southern California in two weeks. Although I have come to love Oregon, I think that it is time for some change and I am very enthusiastic about this one. OuO
Lastly, my art. I have been working freelance for companies and am also illustrating two different children's books. I am very optimistic about it!
Thank you for listening to my ramble. I hope that you are all doing well as well!
